Gotideal Liquid Chalk Markers

This was our first time using liquid chalk markers and we loved it! I will say you do have to shake it like it states in the directions, but don't do what I did. I shook so hard on the first try that it poured out so make sure to have a paper towel handy. It also helps if the liquid chalk drips. It wipes off really easy. I love all the color options offered in this box. There's a little bit of everything. You can see our creations we have made so far below. Another tip.....they do wipe off really easy before they dry so be aware. Also I have found that AFTER it dries if you spray hair spray on it to keep your art in place but I repeat do say AFTER it has dried. Otherwise it will cause it to look streaky. It did tried to form a "cloud" around my pictures but I waited until it dried and just touched it up with the paper towel. Another tip I learned is that the colors will mix so draw the bulk of your picture on one side and add details to the other side. As far as cleanup goes I sprayed a little windex and wiped it right off. All in all I REALLY loved Gotideal Liquid Chalk Markers and look forward to my next project with them.

This is what I did with the liquid chalk markers on the front door for Easter. The white bunny was my first try at it before the pink one.

We used liquid chalk markers and created a stained glass window on the backdoor. Brayden loves drawing with them. The last picture is his creation.

Coloring Eggs for Easter

4/28/2020

We had such a great time coloring eggs. We used Dudley 's Tattoo Fun Easter Egg Decorating Kit. It was tons of fun. I will say we did find the tattoos a little problematic as we couldn't get them to go on the eggs easily. Other than that though we thoroughly enjoyed it. These were the brightest eggs we have ever made because we added two of the color dye tablets to each cup instead of just one. (We had two kits.) I think my favorite color would have to be the green ones. Brayden's favorite color was the orange ones. Which one is your favorite color?

Here is a fun little video to enjoy that I made on TikTok to show all the fun we had.

By the way, yes that is a song from Blue's Clues. I grew up with Steve on Blue's Clues. My son grew up with Joe on Blue's Clues. I was so excited to say Blue's Clues come to life again for a new generation so welcome Joshua Dela Cruz to the Blue's Clues family!

Stained Glass Window

I'm so proud of how my stained glass window turned out that I made with Gotideal Liquid Chalk Markers. It was a LONG process and was way harder than I thought it would be but I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. The painters tape took a while to put in place, but it did the job. It kept the liquid chalk from running and mixing. I once again used hairspray to help it set and it worked perfectly again.

If you would like to see the other project I have made with the Gotideal Liquid Chalk Markers and my review of the Markers here you go.

Chalk Your Walk Chalk Drawings

Perfect way to start off Make Something Monday with one of my favorite photos from Chalk Your Walk yesterday. I have always wanted to take a photo like this with Brayden so I decided yesterday I would draw balloons as one of my drawings.

"You are my GREATEST adventure" Disney Pixar Up

Our rainbows Brayden and I made for Chalk Your Walk.

"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue. And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true." Dorothy Gale, The Wizard of Oz

Brayden said this was a human carwash. He said humans walk through and get a carwash type shower. I give him kuddos for using his imagination. It makes me think of one of the inventions from Meet The Robinsons. We must all keep moving forward!

“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
Walt Disney

Brayden drew a picture of the TARDIS and The Doctor with a Sonic Screwdriver for Chalk Your Walk. He said Dr Who could save us from Covid-19.

“I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams.”

My Lion for Chalk Your Walk.

“It’s the Circle of Life and it moves us all, through despair and hope, through faith and love, ’til we find our place on the path unwinding.” – The Lion King

Brayden said Miss Misty was the butterfly and that there was snow on the ground but Brayden turned it into grass.

Brayden said that the blue drawing is a narwhal stuck in the ice and and the other drawing is Doctor Who coming to save the narwhal.

We had a blast putting together Emmet's Thricycle from The Lego Movie 2! Brayden did have a little bit of a rough time with the wheels, but MAMA TO THE RESCUE.....together we were able to figure it out and build it together.

We had a FANTASTIC time at Brush Crazy!

Brayden and I went with our family to Brush Crazy for a fun night out painting. Brush Crazy is so much fun and budget friendly for families depending on the project you choose to make. They provide all the paint and supplies while you are there. If you are worried about getting your clothes dirty they even provide aprons. You can drop in and do a solo project or come with a group. We absolutely can not wait to go back to Brush Crazy!!!!

Look at the beautiful beach scene that Brayden made! Insert cheesy, proud Mom grin here. Ha ha!
My painting. I decided to paint this scene since it reminds me of my YA novel, Amelia and the Secret of Stoney Manor. I used a stencil that they provided to make the black wolf. I saw many, many more projects that I want to do so I will definitely be back!

I was so excited to introduce my son to Lite Brite since I grew up with it when I was a kid. This kit is a lot smaller in size than the one I had as a child, but still just as fun. We had a blast making this little sail boat.

Had to get a little video of the pretty lights flickering. And, yes I am watching The Mistletones on Hallmark in the background. I love Hallmark!
I have the Lite Brite jingle in my head, so I had to look up the 1992 commercial from my decade for y'all to enjoy!

Just My Style Layered Lip Balm

I had so much fun making Just My Style Layered Lip Balm with my niece. I will say it was quite tedious to make starting with putting the wax in the teeny tiny measuring cup. The wax chips are really tiny so you have to be careful not to spill them. It requires patience to melt the wax in the cup of boiling water. It was fun to add the shimmery flavor to it though. The most tedious part was pouring the melted wax mixture into the  lip balm tubes. It did not make enough to fill the entire tube. My niece lost interest in at this point so we did not make any more to try to fill it more. I hope to go back and try this product one more time.

How do you like our cute little Lincoln Logs cabin? Couldn't you picture it up in the mountains somewhere? We had so much fun with these. Lincoln Logs are super easy to build with after you get the hang of the direction of the grooves in the wood. It's a great family activity that the kiddos will enjoy. I look forward to making many more projects with Brayden with our Lincoln Logs.
