Sisters Rachel, Angie, and Jo may have survived their first encounter with a curse, but hundreds more are lurking within their aunt’s antique shop. There’s just one problem: Peter, the apprentice, has no idea how to start teaching two untrained rune-casters and keep them safe at the same time.

Naet

It isn’t fair to Jo that she has no magic, but her sisters both do. She feels useless and left out. Worse yet, she knows that she’s a liability. She would leave… but, something in the shop is calling to her, reaching out … and she won’t leave until she finds it.

Ail

Every night, Angie’s dreams are haunted by a man who claims he was cursed, and she’s the only one who can save him. When she starts to get sick, Peter and her sisters are sure the cause is her mysterious dreams. How can they convince her that the person she’s determined to help could be the one killing her?

Eles

Rachel never expected to get a magic power and a boyfriend when she inherited the antique shop. Better yet, she’s actually good at curse-breaking. It seems as though she’s found exactly what she was meant to do. But, when a curse strikes two people she cares about, Rachel is faced with the harsh truth that she might only be able to save one.

Okay, now down to business....

Brylee we will start with you.

Candie and Michelle
: Besides Ethan, how did it feel to know the friends you had in California weren’t really your friends at all?

Brylee: Of course it hurt. I was in shock at first because we all hung out together frequently. I guess you live and learn.

Candie and Michelle: Yes you do.  Since you have openly stated that you used to be a bully what advice would you give to those who continue to bully people who are different from them?

Brylee: I can tell you that it felt good to 'join in' with the others when they'd make fun of someone. But that feeling didn't last long. At night when I was alone, I had to answer to myself for my actions. So if you think what your doing isn't going to affect you, you're lying to yourself. Someday you'll have to answer for what you're doing.

Candie and Michelle: Good advice.  On the other hand you have also experienced being bullied so what advice would you give to someone who is going through that?

Brylee: It will end. I promise you. But in the mean time, don't let them know it bothers you. I tried to give them a snarky remark instead of letting them know that they hurt my feelings. Or I just pretended not to care. Usually it's the reaction that they want; they love to embarrass you.

Candie and Michelle: So true. We know Ethan taught you how to draw Anime. Do you still do that from time to time? Do you have a favorite one to draw?

Brylee: He did. I'll never forget that. I loved to draw Anime then because it was something we did together. I gave that up when he died.

Candie and Michelle: Awww. How did it make you feel to know that your Mom didn’t believe you in the beginning about the ghosts in your house?

Brylee:  Well to put it plainly, it sucked. Sometimes my mom has a hard time accepting the truth. I knew she had to see it to believe it.

Candie and Michelle: I think most people would be that way. What was going through your mind on the ride to school the next day after Ephraim walked in on you in the bathroom?

Brylee: Ugh. That was the most embarrassing thing that had ever happened to me. On the ride to school I was too caught up on how hot he was to care about that. But thanks for bringing it up.

Candie and Michelle:Lol. Do you feel like becoming the Art Teacher’s Aide increased your passion for art and your ability to do it?

Brylee: I guess. I was just so busy dealing with my house and the curse that my art and love for it, took a back seat.

Candie and Michelle: You did have a lot to deal with. Did you ever want to seek revenge against the Mayhew boys for always flirting with you?

Brylee: Sure. I'd love to do some things to get back at John specifically. But those guys aren't going far with their lives, trust me. Karma can be a bitch.

Candie and Michelle: I totally agree! What was the most absurd story you ever heard about the brown house?

Brylee: Hmm. Probably that the house held the door to Hell. Yeah, that's stupid.

Candie and Michelle: ROFL over here. *Gains composure before asking next question.* We know of all the warnings you got about the Mayhews and their troubled past. What made you see Ephraim differently?

Brylee: I wasn't exactly perfect myself, so I realized if someone could give me a chance, I could do the same. He had kind eyes, so that helped too. He just radiated goodness.

Candie and Michelle: He always seemed like a nice guy. :) Did you ever feel like you were cheating on Ethan with Ephraim?

Brylee: At times. I tried not to think about it.

Candie and Michelle: Were you bummed or happy that the cops showed up while you and Ethan were on the beach?

Brylee: Extremely bummed at the time. Looking back at it now, I realized that I didn't want to have my first time on the beach in public.

Candie and Michelle: I guess the heat of the moment can do that to you.

Now on to you Lynley....

Candie and Michelle: Did you regret breaking up with Miles?

Lynley: I suppose all things happen for a reason. I spared his feelings much more by breaking up with him.

Candie and Michelle: Did you get tired of Brylee and Ephraim always babying you?

Lynley: Not so much Brylee. She means well and honestly wants me to be the best version of me. Ephraim has babied me since birth. He drives me crazy sometimes.

Candie and Michelle: I think brothers are hardwired to do that. Lol. How did it feel that Brylee didn’t judge you and wanted to be your friend?

Lynley: Brylee is a wonderful friend and I was so happy to have found her.

Candie and Michelle: We agree she is just as lucky to have found you too.

Ephraim on to you....

Candie and Michelle: We know that you made an origami swan for Brylee. Can you make anything else? Where did you learn to do that?

Ephraim: *laughs* I can make ducks, but they look like swans. Does that count? We had a foreign exchange student in Junior High who taught me.

Candie and Michelle:  :) Do you still like to go hunting?

Ephraim: Absolutely. I look forward to hunting season all year. I am still hoping for that elusive nine pointer. He's out there, somewhere.

Candie and Michelle: Uh oh. Watch out Bambi. Ha ha. What was going through your mind when Brylee revealed to you all that was going on with her?

Ephraim: Shock. Fear. Memories of my father. Pretty much any emotion you could think of when being told the same thing. The only thing I didn't feel was that she was lying. I believed her.

Candie and Michelle: I'm glad you did so that she had you with her while she was going through it all. Do you still like taking pictures of toes?

Ephraim: Just Brylee's. I think she'd take my camera and beat it to death if I took pictures of anyone else's feet.

Candie and Michelle: He he he.  Did you enjoy the “wilkes” concert? What was your favorite song?

Ephraim: Wilkes was amazing. We hope to see them again, soon. I love concerts, but only if Bry is there with me.

Candie and Michelle: Did you ever feel close to your Mom?

Ephraim: Sure, I guess. She wasn't always awful, ya know? She had her moments. But my dad, he was the best. We would go hunting and fishing together and there was never a doubt about who he was.

Candie and Michelle: It's sad that your Mom wasn't there, but I'm glad you had your Dad as long as you did. How did it feel when your Mom blamed you for Lynley?

Ephraim: Like my whole life was a lie.

Candie and Michelle: :(

Kayla you're up.....

Candie and Michelle: Do you have fun scaring Brylee?

Kayla:  Let's be honest, I have fun scaring everyone. I'd even like to scare you right now.

Candie and Michelle:  Lol. It is fun scaring people sometimes. How did it feel knowing Rich still loved you?

Kayla: This is a really personal question. I don't know if I signed off on those.

Candie and Michelle: Okay. Moving on then. Lol.

SPOILER QUESTIONS

If you have not read the books and don't want to know any secrets than stop reading here.

Hey I mean it.....

Don't go any further if you haven't read them....

Well, I warned you.....

Brylee these questions are for you.

Candie and Michelle: I know you talked to Ethan after the accident. Before hearing from him how did you feel about sending the “there is too much distance” type text to him before he died?

Brylee: It was obviously extremely hard to do. But I knew it was the best choice I had. There was too much distance.

Candie and Michelle: Distance relationships are tough. Explain how you felt when you realized Kayla was actually dead?

Brylee: Shocked. I mean, she was so alive.

Candie and Michelle: I was shocked to find out too. How did it make you feel to be called “a visitor” in your own house?

Brylee: I didn't like it. It was not their house. But mostly, it scared the crap out of me.

Candie and Michelle: You were braver than most people would have been. We know Pearl was the first ghost you ever talked to. What was going through your mind at that time?

Brylee: I had dealt with some activity already in the house but seeing her was scary as heck. She was so real and so not real. Does that make sense?

Candie and Michelle:   Yes it does. How did you feel about the ghost always showing up when you were taking a bath or getting dressed?

Brylee: Ugh. Totally annoying. I didn't have any privacy. God knows what else she saw me do. Perve.

Candie and Michelle: *Giggles* Did you ever help Angie Harris cross over?

Brylee: I don't know. There may be more books so I don't want to spoil anything.

Candie and Michelle: Eeeekkk!!! I hope so. Did you ever take the job as forensic artist?

Brylee: I can't exactly say, because there might be another book. BUT, what I can say is, I love my job.

Candie and Michelle: After you found the key in the rubble what did you do with it?

Brylee:  I hid it away somewhere safe. Only me and Ephraim know where it is.

Candie and Michelle: That's good. I hope no one finds it.

Ephraim your turn.....

Candie and Michelle: Would you open the door all over again knowing that you would be cursing you and your family?

Ephraim: Part of me--my curiosity side--wants to know what happened after the door slammed shut. But I would never take the chance.

Candie and Michelle:  I knew you would say that. At any point in time did you blame Brylee for cursing your family?

Ephraim: What? No way. It was not her fault.

Candie and Michelle: How did it feel to see your first ghost?

Ephraim: It's terrifying. At first you don't believe your eyes.

Candie and Michelle: I can imagine. Were you scared when you thought you didn’t have a future with Brylee due to the curse?

Ephraim: There is no future without her in it.

Candie and Michelle:  Awww. Best boyfriend ever. Wish you had a clone. Lol. Did you finally get Brylee to marry you? If so how was the wedding?

Ephraim: Hmm. Can't answer this. Christy told me to say, 'No comment.'

Candie and Michelle:  Poo. I understand. :) Does it make you mad knowing that John was hiding in the bushes not even coming to your rescue?

Ephraim: He's always been a wimp. I don't expect him to ever show his face to me again.

Candie and Michelle: It's sad when family turns their back on you. :(

Lynley you're next....

Candie and Michelle:  At any point in time did you blame Brylee for cursing your family?

Lynley: Never. Brylee is my best friend.

Candie and Michelle: What a true friend. Do you think your Mom ever really loved your Dad or do you think it was a cover?

Lynley: She's an evil woman. She is not my Mom.

Candie and Michelle: How did it feel knowing your Mom only wanted you alive to possess your body?

Lynley: I don't know. I don't have a mother.

Candie and Michelle: Do you feel like your Mom really ever loved you?

Lynley: *sarcastically* What mother? I was abandoned.

Candie and Michelle: What made you so brave in the end?

Lynley: Knowing that my brother wouldn't be alone. If he was, I don't think I could do it.

Candie and Michelle: :( Awww

Last but not least....Kayla....

Candie and Michelle: We know you did your homework, so to speak, when you were learning about the Barclay sisters. Did you discover that they had caused any other terrible things to happen in the course of history besides the brown house curse?

Kayla: Those sisters caused nothing but havoc and destruction across the entire US. They were to blame for many unsolved murders. Honestly, I think that they took many forms and killed a lot of people.

Candie and Michelle: They got what they deserved. How did it feel when you went back to your old house and saw that your Mom was gone?

Kayla: Meh. I don't care. She moved on with her life; good for her.

Candie and Michelle:  :) Did you know that Evangeeline was planning to possess your body before you went missing?

Kayla: She's disgusting. I wouldn't put it past her. Sicko.

Candie and Michelle: How do you feel your life would have turned out if  you hadn’t of died?

Kayla: I'd be married with three kids. Joking! I think I would have tried the college route, maybe. Or actually cared about school. A lot of things would have been different. But fate handed me this card and look how well I did. I saved Brylee's ass didn't I?

Candie and Michelle: I think you’ve done well in your situation. :)

Well, I guess that about wraps it up for now. We will have to have y'all back again. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to chat with us. Until next time.....

"The Stellar Stacey Rourke"

I would like to introduce "The Stellar Stacey Rourke" as our "Author of the Month" for the month of September. Here is the personal interview that we were blessed with.

Candie and Michelle: Have you always known you wanted to be a writer? Did anything happen to push you in that direction?

Stacey Rourke: I have always written, I did NOT always want to be a writer. Writing was something I did, it was part of who I was. However I never even considered being a writer until after I finished college, trying numerous other career paths, had my kids, and THEN wrote my first full manuscript. Only then did a little light bulb flicker on over my head and I realized what I should have been doing all along. I didn't choose writing, it chose me and I couldn't be happier about that.

Candie and Michelle: We are so glad it did choose you. How has life changed since your career has taken off?

Stacey Rourke: It's more hectic in a wonderful way! I travel a lot more and never seem to have a day off because even when I do my mind is always on the next story or chapter I need to be working on.

Candie and Michelle: We understand what you're saying. Is it hard to juggle having a family and being a writer at the same time? How do you do it?

Stacey Rourke: It can be tricky, but I am fortunate enough to have a very understanding family. They juggle things around and help me out so I can continue to chase this crazy dream of mine.

Candie and Michelle: Awww. :) Who has been your biggest supporter in your career so far?

Stacey Rourke: My husband. He is my partner, my sounding board, and my anchor that keeps me rooted when my gypsy spirit gets carried away.

Candie and Michelle: We are so glad that you have that support system. What was the hardest part in getting your writing career started?

Stacey Rourke: The literary world is evolving right now. Different avenues for publishing have made it possible that for everyone that wants to write a book to throw their hat in the ring. This has flooded the market with material. Working to stand out within that onslaught of talent has been the hardest part without a doubt.

Candie and Michelle:  I can now say I understand where you are coming from. For those who haven’t read your books yet how would you describe your writing style?

Stacey Rourke: Dark and twisted story lines with snarky humor weaved through them. That pretty much describes them to a T.

Candie and Michelle: Makes me want to read your books even more. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Stacey Rourke: I seek out new challenges all the time! I'm constantly trying to find new writing hurdles to conquer; be it a new genre, switching up my usual POV, or tackling one literature's greatest legends. As authors its easily to fall into a pattern and stick to a "formula" with each book. I try to change things up and try something new with each book!

Candie and Michelle:  Those are words all of us authors should live by. What is something you do to overcome writer’s block?

Stacey Rourke: Just write. Sit down and get words out. Even if it will have to be completely rewritten later on, or it's a section from a completely different story, get something out. I try to get at least 1000 words out a day. It may not seem like much, but each word is a brick that will eventually build your book!

Candie and Michelle: Great advice! If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Stacey Rourke: I'm not sure I could pick just one! King's twisted mind, Rowling's world building, Meyer's mob appeal, Patterson's drive; I would love to pick the minds of each and everyone of the greats!

Candie and Michelle:  All great choices. If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?

Stacey Rourke: Harry Potter! JK Rowling owns a castle thanks to that book! A CASTLE! I like castles ...

Candie and Michelle:  I can see it now....Castle Rourke. :) Out of all the books you have written so far which has been your favorite one to write?

Stacey Rourke: The entire Legends Saga is my pride and joy. It's so dark and twisted and I enjoyed every minute of the process of creating it!

Candie and Michelle: That series is definitely on TBR list. As a whole which character has been your favorite “good guy” to write about?

Stacey Rourke: Celeste in the Gryphon Series was my favorite "good guy." She is so strong, and selfless it's truly inspirational.

Candie and Michelle: Can't wait to get to know her. Out of all your books do you feel like there is a particular character you relate to the most?

Stacey Rourke: Honestly, I think there's a little bit of me in all my characters. In each of them I find some element I can relate to.

Candie and Michelle: :)  Is there anywhere that you have traveled to that has inspired you to use it one of your upcoming books?

Stacey Rourke: Recently I drove through the mountains of Virginia, it was so gorgeous I definitely think I will have to use that setting for a scene at some point.

Candie and Michelle: I bet that was beautiful. What book are you reading now?

Stacey Rourke: Right now I am reading Spelled by Betsy Schow.

Candie and Michelle: Will have to add that to my TBR list. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Stacey Rourke: Each and every author at Anchor Group Publishing catches my attention!

Candie and Michelle: I am so thankful to be one of them. What advice would you give to your younger self?

Stacey Rourke: Believe in yourself, stop trying to fit into boxes and norms you were never meant to fit into and just write.

Candie an Michelle: Excellent advice. What advice do you give to other aspiring authors?

Stacey Rourke: Read. It was Stephen King that said only by reading can writers gain the tools they need to write. I like to branch out in different genres, get different flavors and methods I can apply to my own writing!

Candie and Michelle:  Well said Stacey! Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Stacey Rourke: Thank you for all your support, I wouldn't be were I am today without you. And here is my promise to you; you keep reading them and I'll keep writing them!

Candie and Michelle: How can readers discover more about you and you work?

Stacey Rourke: They can find me at www.staceyrourke.com, www.facebook.com/staceyrourkeauthor, diaryofasemicrazyauthor.blogspot.com, or Twitter and Instagram @rourkewrites
