I would like to introduce New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author HP Mallory as my "Author of the Month" for the month of November. Here is the personal interview that I was blessed with.

Michelle: Tell us about yourself.

HP Mallory: Hi Everyone, I'm HP and I started my writing journey as a self-published author, back when Amazon and Barnes and Noble were just offering self-pubbing as an option. Since then, I've gone the traditional route of publishing but will always consider myself to be an indie at heart.

Michelle: Have you always known you wanted to be a writer? Did anything happen to push you in that direction?

HP Mallory: Yes, I have always wanted to be a writer, ever since I was a little girl. I always excelled in English and creative writing and finally made my dream a reality in 2010.

Michelle: I'm so glad that you decided to become an author. I love your books! As a whole which character has been your favorite “good guy” to write about? Who has been your favorite villain?  Do you feel like there is a particular character you relate to the most?

HP Mallory: My favorite character to write is by far angel Bill from the Lily Harper series. He was a huge departure for me in terms of the characters I'm used to writing because he's pretty crude but I so enjoy trying to come up with the new hilarious situations for him. While I would say that I am in all of my characters to an extent because I created them, I definitely relate to Jolie the most.

Michelle: I love Jolie and cough, cough Sinjin! I look forward to getting to know Bill when I read the Lily Harper series. What book are you reading now? Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

HP Mallory: Sadly I'm not reading anything at the moment because I'm so busy trying to stick to my writing schedule! In the past, I've really enjoyed the Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake series and Charlaine Harris' Sookie series.

Michelle: I know the Sookie series very well. My best friend has read the entire series. I also featured Charlaine Harris on here before. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

HP Mallory: I would just love to thank all of my readers for their loyalty! It can be very tough to be a writer and make a living at it and I really owe everything to my readers!

Thank you so much, HP, for taking the time to sit down with me. I feel blessed to be featuring you this month.

                                -Michelle Bradshaw

The Sensational Shelby White

I would like to introduce you "The Sensational Shelby White" as our "Author of the Month" for the month of June. Here is the personal interview that we were blessed with.

Make sure you check out Shelby White's book  out NOW on Amazon. The Ouija Board.

Candie and Michelle: Tell us about yourself.

Shelby White: Hi all! My name is Shelby and I am a YA author from Northern California. My debut novel The Ouija Board was just published in December of last year and follows a group of 4 best friends who stumble upon a Ouija board for some late night entertainment and soon realize some games aren’t meant to be played with. This is the first book in "The Paranormal Adventure Series". I am currently writing book 2 of the same series which will be released later this year.

When I’m not writing I love the art of film, live theater and what they all share in common; the art of storytelling.

Candie and Michelle: We can't wait for book 2! Have you always known you wanted to be a writer? Did anything happen to push you in that direction?

Shelby White: I have always loved writing and have for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I would often write short stories for fun of anything that came to mind and inspired me. As I got older those stories continued to write and grow in size. As I continued to jot down my ideas on to paper they began to grow and morph into the novels I write today.

Candie and Michelle: We are so glad you chose to this path. In The Ouija Board, which character was your favorite “good guy” to write about? Who was your favorite villain? Do you feel like there is a particular character you relate to the most?

Shelby White: In The Ouija Board there were actually a lot of fun characters to write. The four best friends in this series, Alycia, Sarah, Lauren, and Sacha are very fun to write as they interact with each other. I relate to each of them and their characteristics, each with their own specific traits I think everyone has within themselves. An observant, fun loving, athletic, fashion forward, adventurous group of friends who are in for the experience of a lifetime.

I also enjoyed writing the interactions with these friends and Lady Sky, the eccentric medium they come in contact with, who helps them on their quest for answers. This creates a group of people we would think might never normally come in contact with each other and creates a whole different realm of possibilities. You never know what might come out of it and the relationship between these characters pleasantly surprised me when I finished writing book one and the direction book 2 will be taking.

Candie and Michelle: Misty has already gotten to now those gals. Candie and I can't wait to get to know them too. What books are you reading now? Have any authors grasped your interest?

Shelby White: I grew up really liking Meg Cabot’s books and enjoyed reading her series’. Later I found other great authors like Jen Calonita and her fantastic books and series’. Then actually over the past few years have found autobiographies to be an interesting read. Reading about fascinating peoples real lives and finding out more about the world around you.

Candie and Michelle: We will have to check those two authors out. :)  Anything else you want to say to your readers?

Shelby White: There’s nothing I appreciate more than the support of readers! The Ouija Board is out now on ebook and in paperback on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and more! Ebooks are only .99 cents on all websites. Grab your copy today for a great summer read and gear up for book 2 out later this year!

Candie and Michelle: We can't wait!

Thank you so much, Shelby, for taking the time to sit down with us. We both feel blessed to be featuring you this month.

I would like to introduce "The Marvelous Martina McAtee" as our "Author of the Month" for the month of May. Here is the personal interview that we were blessed with.

Make sure you check out Martina McAtee's book  out NOW on Amazon.
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. Pre-order your copy of book 2 in the series, Dark Dreams and Dead Things

Candie and Michelle:
Tell us about yourself.

Martina McAtee:  Um, okay, about me. I write dark, snarky, young adult, paranormal romances. I am a mom to two teenagers, two chihuahuas, and two cats. I'm a vegan, a coffee addict, and a book lover (obviously). In my muggle life, I'm a registered nurse working in radiology.  I have one book out called Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things and the second book in the Dead Things series, Dark Dreams and Dead Things is due out in July.

Candie and Michelle:  Candie loved your first book and I am currently still reading it. We both can't wait for the second one. :) Have you always known you wanted to be a writer? Did anything happen to push you in that direction?

Martina McAtee:  I don't remember wanting to be a writer, I just was always writing. I remember my sister reading to me from a really early age and making up my own stories even before I could write. My first book was written with an orange crayon on one of my mom's legal pads. As I got older, I sort of fell away from writing fiction and began writing more academically. Then, I had a story idea that just wouldn't stop nagging me so I finally just sat down and wrote my first book.

Candie and Michelle: We are so glad you wrote it! As a whole, which character has been your favorite “good guy” to write about? Who has been your favorite villain?  Do you feel like there is a particular character you relate to the most?

 Martina McAtee: My favorite good guy is Kai. He's funny and confident and so secure in who he is. His humor and life observations make him so much fun to write. Plus, he has some of the best romantic bickering. As for favorite villain...I'm not sure Mace is a villain, but it's safe to say his moral compass is permanently skewed. It's always fun to write somebody who is such an ass, but still so charming. I would have to say I relate most to Ember. She is a little bit of every girl in my family, myself included. She's sharp tongued and insecure, but goodhearted.

Candie and Michelle: Candie said she loved all three of those characters. What book are you reading now? Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Martina McAtee:  I'm reading NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. It's excellent. Very scary and deeply disturbing. There are a couple of new authors I'm loving right now. Raye Wagner, S.E. Summa, and Krystal Wade all have excellent books out right now.

Candie and Michelle: We will have to check them out. :) Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Martina McAtee:  I love all of my readers and I'm so grateful you guys have gone on this journey with me. I love interacting with all of you on my social media. If you see me online, say hi. Also, book two is on pre-order as of May 1st, so I hope you are excited to get your hands on it.

Candie and Michelle: We are EXCITED!

Thank you so much Martina for taking the time to sit down with us. We both feel blessed to be featuring you this month.

The Fascinating K R Fajardo

I would like to introduce "The Fascinating K R Fajardo" as our "Author of the Month" for the month of April. Here is the personal interview that we were blessed with.

Make sure you check out K R Fajardo's book Linked (The Shadow Chronicles Book Two) out NOW on Amazon. Get your copy today!

Candie & Michelle: Tell us about yourself.

K R Fajardo: I am a married mother of three wonderful children who calls the piney woods of East Texas home.  Some of my favorite things are Dr. Pepper, chocolate, and, with the exception of Garth Brooks, will take an 80’s hair band over Country music any day of the week.  However, my real love is reading, so at the end of a long day of being wife, mom, chauffeur, nurse, and book keeper for my husband’s business, I love to settle into bed with a good book and transport myself into another world. It was this passion that led me to writing and, in 2014, after much consideration, I decided to take a chance on myself and attempted to write my own book. Now a completed novel, K The Awakening is available for purchase on Amazon, and its sequel, Linked, is out now on Amazon. Get your copy today!

Candie & Michelle:  It's so nice to get to know you better K R. Have you always known you wanted to be a writer? Did anything happen to push you in that direction?

K R Fajardo:  I have had the desire to write for as long as I can remember, but always came up with excuses as to why I couldn’t do it, time usually being the number one reason. However, several years ago, after my youngest started to school, and with me only working part-time, I found myself with a significant amount of free time and lack of any other reasonable answer as to why I shouldn’t try. It was then I finally put my own self-doubt aside and turned on my laptop. Six months later, I was staring at a completed 120,000 word manuscript with no idea what to do with it. Then, one day, while I was browsing online, I came across this online article about a famous Indie writer named Hugh Howey and how he had made a fortune self-publishing his own novels using Amazon’s Kindle Direct. So, after a little more research, I found the website, uploaded my book, and self-published my first novel.

Candie & Michelle:   We are so glad you decided to travel the path to become an author. As a whole which character has been your favorite “good guy” to write about? Who has been your favorite villain?  Do you feel like there is a particular character you relate to the most?

K R Fajardo:   Probably the closest thing I have to a “good guy” in my book is Citera. Who, despite only being sixteen years old, is extremely mature, thoughtful, and always manages to find a silver lining in even the most depressing of situations. As far as “bad guys” go, I definitely have to go with the Enforcer, aka Jarod, even though I consider him more of an anti-hero than a villain. He was also one of my favorites to write about because the further you get into the story, the more complex his character becomes and continues to become in the upcoming sequels.  He is the type of character that you will find yourself continuously alternating between hating his guts and wanting to wrap your arms around him to cry on his shoulder. Do I relate myself to any of the characters in my book? I would love to say I see K in myself.  After all, she is a no nonsense woman who doesn’t put up with anybody’s crap.  Underneath that tough exterior is a kindhearted soul that is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people she cares for and make things right again.

Candie & Michelle:  We can't wait to read your books and get to know each character. What book are you reading now?  Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

K R Fajardo:  Oh my goodness! Since joining Anchor Group, my TBR list just continues to keep growing. Currently, however, I am in the middle of three books! First of all I am finishing up with Jennifer Malone Wright’s Savior, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to one day reading her Vampire Hunter series. I have also just begun to read St. Valentine by Rain Murphey and the newest release, The Best I Could, by one of my all-time favorite indie authors, RK Ryals.

Candie & Michelle:  Each of those are already on my TBR list. I can't wait to read them too. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

K R Fajardo:  I just want to take a minute to thank everyone who has helped me make my dream a reality. You guys have no idea how much the kind words you write in the reviews and the messages that I receive from people telling me they enjoyed my books really warms my heart and encourages me to keep going on days that it seems easier just to give up and quit. I also want to take this opportunity to just say to those of you out there who are letting self-doubt and fear keep them you from pursuing thier dream, just push those thoughts aside and go for it; because you will never know what will happen if you never try. And with that I leave you with one of my favorite quotes.
“When you are afraid of trying something new, remember this. Amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic.” – Anonymous.

Candie & Michelle:  Great advice! I love that quote!

Thank you so much K R for taking the time to sit down with us. We both feel blessed to be featuring you this month.

Title:  Linked (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2)

Author:  K R Fajardo

Publisher: Anchor Group Publishing

Release Date: April 5, 2016

"Centuries ago I screwed up. Lost control of my darkness and did some things that I honestly wish I could erase from my memory. Feeling I had grown too powerful for my own good, the Council of Immortals banded together to create a linking spell which would forever connect my powers and emotions to those of a mortal with a pure and innocent heart. Unfortunately, the Council foolishly underestimated the depths to which my soul had descended. As a result, I have been forced to watch over and over again as my darkness eventually devoured the light shining within the poor souls chosen to be my Link. I would be lying if a said this didn't bother me, although probably not as much as it should. But regardless of my feelings, fate is fate, and unfortunately for Citera, hers has now become entwined with mine." K.
                                            ~~~Book Blurb~~~
Six months after K turned their lives upside down, Mikel, Citera, and their friends are beginning to settle into life inside Jaron’s camp. And with no patrols, inspectors, or Shadows around, it is a life none of them would have ever dreamed of having. However when ghosts from K’s past make an appearance and snap her usually unwavering control, Citera begins to be plagued by some strange and alarming symptoms. No longer able to keep the truth hidden, Jaron and K are forced to at last reveal the dark secret they have been keeping from the father and daughter, one that will alter the course of Citera's life forever.
While her friends are adapting to life in paradise, Maya is struggling to survive her own personal hell. Locked in the Tower, she lives from day to day, desperate to find a way to connect with the only person who could make it all tolerable. Jarod, however, wanting to protect her from the darkness that is growing inside him, continues to push her away. But when a trip outside the Tower leads to Jarod learning that he has been lied to by the only person he ever trusted, he finds himself at a crossroads. Should he continue living the charade, protecting people who would just as soon see him dead as to look at him, or for the first time in his life, should he do what is right for him and allow himself to fall for this girl who consumes his every waking thought?
