I would like to introduce "The
Delightful Adam Cappa" as our "Artist of the Month" for the month of May. Here is the personal interview that we were blessed with.

Candie and Michelle: When did you start singing?

Adam Cappa: I started singing when I was 16. Right at the time I met the Lord. It was the overflow of what was happening in my heart and the only way it could come out.

Candie and Michelle: What do you like most about living in Richmond, IN?

Adam Cappa: Richmond is home. There is nothing better than being in a place where family is and where people support you! I love that Richmond is a place desiring to follow Jesus and to see lives changed.

Candie and Michelle: It sounds like a wonderful place to live. How do you balance your career with time with your family?

Adam Cappa: It's never easy being away from the ones you love. My family has been involved from the very beginning. Rooting me on and praying for me. They come to as many shows as they can:) I get them in the loop of what's happening while I'm on the road or in the studio because they are my biggest fans and supporters!

Candie and Michelle: So glad you have that great support system. Did you grow up in a musical family?

Adam Cappa: Not at all!:) My father and brother are in Law Enforcement and I thought that's where I would end up as well.

Candie and Michelle: All of your fans are thankful that you chose to get into music. Can you play any instruments?

Adam Cappa: I play guitar as well as a little piano but my first instrument was trumpet.

Candie and Michelle: I love the piano and guitar. Who is your biggest supporter?

Adam Cappa: My family without a doubt! Along with Jeremy Camp:)

Candie and Michelle:  What a blessing to have Jeremy Camp as a mentor/supporter. What was the first tune(s) you learned?

Adam Cappa: Light the Fire by Bill Maxwell. All in All by Dennis Jernigan. Wonder wall by Oasis.

Candie and Michelle: All good songs. What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?

Adam Cappa: My fondest musical memories are many. A few of my favorites are: Writing and recording my first album called "Carry Me" when I was in college.Playing a sold out show and my hometown arena.Touring with Jeremy Camp.Playing all over the world.

Candie and Michelle: All of those are great memories. Besides being musically inclined do you feel you have any other talents?

Adam Cappa: I'm pretty skilled at jumping rope:) I earned a bronze medal in the Junior Olympics in middle school.

Candie and Michelle: Got a jump rope video to share?  ;) What do you do in your downtime?

Adam Cappa: I use my telescope on clear nights. Shoot guns with my buds. Starting to read more. Dream about traveling to places I've never been.

Candie and Michelle: I love space myself. Which artist(s) or band(s) do you feel has influenced you the most? Who do you admire?

Adam Cappa: Obviously Jeremy Camp:) He's had such an impact on my music and walk with the lord since we became buds and began ministry together. Others are Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes. They were the first guys I looked up to after I met the Lord and wanted to imitate being like them. I'm a One Republic fan as well. I've found in my effort and failure to sound like them along I've discovered my own sound.

Candie and Michelle: I thought you would say Jeremy Camp. ;) I love One Republic too. Where has been your favorite place to perform on past tours so far?

Adam Cappa: My favorite place has been in Belgium. I love the hearts of the people there and have made such amazing friendships along away.

Candie and Michelle: Pictures please. lol :) Do you have any pre-show rituals to prepare for a performance?

Adam Cappa: I pray for the Lord's anointing and words only for the hearts of the people in attendance each night.

Candie and Michelle: What is your favorite song to perform? Why?

Adam Cappa: My favorite song to share is "How Worthy", because it's so close to my heart. It's a song that took more than 7 years to write because I was coming to know my Savior and how worthy He is to be praised in my life.

Candie and Michelle: :) How do you unwind after a show?

Adam Cappa: Usually eating something and late night conversations with the guys on the bus.

Candie and Michelle: Sounds like fun. Is there anywhere that you haven’t performed at yet that you would really like to?

Adam Cappa: Hoping to play in Rome this November. I've been a few times and haven't played yet. Praying it works out:) I'm also hoping to be in London, Ireland and Australia soon!:)

Candie and Michelle: All great places that are on bucket list. Is there any other artist(s) or band(s) that you would like to play with?

Adam Cappa: My dream for the longest time was to open for Switchfoot. I was able to last year! I would love to do something with David Crowder sometime.

Candie and Michelle: I pray it happens for you. How do you feel like your sound has changed during the course of your career?

Adam Cappa: I started as a rocker and have landed in pop, but the Lord has always pointed my songs to glorify Him and lead others in worship.

Candie and Michelle: What Song of yours are you the most proud of?

Adam Cappa: Each song is so different and shows a different depth of my heart so that's a really hard question answer. But if I had to choose one I would go with How Worthy again. It's just so close to my heart.

Candie and Michelle: I can understand that. What has been your most memorable fan moment?

Adam Cappa: The first time hearing how my songs had impacted their life and pointed them to Christ. Always so cool to hear that and to see people singing the songs from stage.

Candie and Michelle: I can imagine that it is. Are there new songs or albums in the horizon for you?

Adam Cappa: Oh yes! Just finishing up a new album now that will be released this year!

Candie and Michelle: Can't wait to hear it. If you weren’t a musician what would you see yourself doing as a career?

Adam Cappa: I would be a police officer. Maybe even trying to be in the Secret Service.

Candie and Michelle: What advice would you give to your younger self?

Adam Cappa: Nothing in this world is worth as much as Christ. You're relationship with Jesus is the most important decision you can make and choose to honor.

Candie and Michelle: Great advice. What advice would you give to an artist or band starting out?

Adam Cappa: Don't try to get open the doors. Let the Lord open them and be obedient to walk through them. Never underestimate your platform. You are exactly where God needs you to be in the moment. Be faithful there and if He chooses to move you, then follow.  You will have the largest impact you can on the Kingdom of God when you are faithful with what He has given you and when you remember that Christ is the reason you do it.

Candie and Michelle: Also good advice. Are there any new artist(s) or band(s) that have grasped your interest?

Adam Cappa: I haven't heard many new bands recently. But I know the Lord is stirring and moving within them.

Candie and Michelle: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your fans?

Adam Cappa: Same advice as I would give to my yonger self.
Nothing in this world is worth as much as Christ. You're relationship with Jesus is the most important decision you can make and choose to honor. Read your Bibles and love Jesus above all things! He is worth it!

Candie and Michelle: How can fans discover more about you and you r music?

Adam Cappa: Facebook is the best way. As well as Twitter and Instagram. Of course coming to a show you can chat with me face to face. I always come out to hang! You can also visit adamcappa.com

Thank you Adam so much for taking the time to sit down with us. We both feel really blessed to be featuring you this month.
